Bogor Zoological Museum ( Museum Zoologi )

Bogor Zoological Museum is located at street of  Ir. H. No. Juanda. 9, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia.The museum was founded by Dr. J.C. Koningsberger in August 1894 and completed in August 1901 with the name Landbouw Zoologisch Museum.In 1906 the name changed to Zoologisch Museum. Four years later the name was changed again into Zoologisch museum en Laboratory. In between the years 1945 to 1947, the museum was renamed the Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense again, until now the name is still in use, then often called Bogor Zoological Museum.

Bogor Zoological Museum is a place of scientific exhibition of some fauna species designated Indonesia for the general public.The museum is collecting a variety of fauna is preserved, there is a collection of millions of specimens consisting of tens of thousands of species of fauna of different types, of which there are 1100 species of birds that come from various regions in Indonesia, 650 species of mammals (nursing), 600 species of reptiles and fish, mollusks which consists of 2300 species, 10,000 species of insects and other invertebrates, 700 species.This museum is under the auspices of the Research Center for Biology LIPI and serves as a museum was originally to provide a forum Zoology Laboratory research related to agriculture and animal pests.
